Terry Dewald - Overview Of The Southwest And Its Native American Crafts, Historic To Contemporary
Terry DeWald, one of the world’s top collectors of and dealers in Tohono O’odham, Pima, Apache, and Navajo baskets and textiles, will deliver an hour-long presentation. This presentation is unique in that Terry displays numerous articles of art created by native Americans, both historic and contemporary. On display will be rugs, blankets, pottery, kachina dolls, and woven baskets that tell the story of this fascinating land and its people. Since Terry supplies museum shops, national parks, and galleries nationwide as a wholesaler, it is convenient for him to pull paramount examples from his inventory. In addition, all of the articles are available for investment purchasing.

Arizona Historical Society And Mark Bahti
The Historical Society has done a tremendous job in recording events not only in Tucson, but state-wide. The Society possesses a distinguished collection ranging from the 16th century to the 1950’s. The staff has been careful to select those artifacts, and written, printed, and photographic records which clearly give insight into the times. Your speaker will share the excitement of Arizona’s past with stories from the Old Frontier to the present with examples of Tucson’s highly distinctive culture. Mark Bahti, owner of Bahti Indian Arts, can compliment this program with a variety of presentations ranging from an overview and discussion of Southwestern tribes, to their religious beliefs and customs, to an engaging history of the crafts from the native tribes. Mark has taught college courses on “Papago Indian Lifeways” and “Cross Cultural Communication”, as well as published numerous books and articles on the customs and traditions of the Southwestern Indians.

Stress is known in the medical profession as the “silent killer.” There’s a trick to recognizing and managing stress. Our speaker presents a program that provides on-the-spot results. This program includes our exercise guru to show you stress reducing stretches and exercises that can be performed in your office or home. This program is an ideal presentation to combine with breakfast, brunch or lunch. 2.5 hour event.

From Stress to Wellness
“From Stress to Wellness” lectures and workshops are taught by a certified IYT (Integrative Yoga Therapy) therapist and are designed to give you a basic understanding of how stress operates with techniques to manage it. IYT blends traditional yoga with current mind-body disciplines for a wellness approach to stress management. These techniques - deep breathing, stretching, progressive relaxation, guided imagery and meditation – have been clinically tested and are know to reverse the stress response. Pamela Asherah, M.A. is a certified teacher of IYT. and has over twenty years experience in mind-body disciplines.

Native-American Story-Telling
Myths and legends of the American Indian continue to enchant all people. Our Native-American storyteller can bring them to life for you. This session is unscripted; audience participation directs the flow. A question or comment from your guests may uncover several unexpected stories. Our storyteller can perform during breakfast or lunch. Added enhancements to this program can include Native American artists to demonstrate their crafts. To list a few: beadworker, silversmith, sand painter, basket weaver, and rug weavers. These artists can bring along some of their creations to view of sell. Musicians and dancers are also available.
